Helping Community Groups

We’re a co-operative formed originally by members of Transition Maidenhead in 2010 with the aim of reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and cut carbon emissions by developing local renewable energy resources, especially solar pv and thermal.

We are working with local Transition Town and renewable energy groups to establish local solar and renewable energy co-operatives to help them to develop, finance and manage their own projects. We hope to add solar hot water projects when the Renewable Heat Incentive is fully implemented.

The Solar Coop is an Industrial Provident Society (IPS) and membership is available to individuals, groups and organizations who use our services.

If you want to help us with the above or fund any of our projects to generate local sustainable power click here or go to our contacts page and call us or e-mail hello@thesolar.coop.
